PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – AIOP Sicilia, intervenes with a note “referring to what appeared today in some press articles about overcrowding the ER in December”, specifying that “the associated structures remained fully operational for the entire year, ensuring welfare continuity even during the holiday season”.
“The structures associated with AIOP have never suspended their business – says AIOP President Sicily, Barbara Cittadini – producing more than 80% of the monthly spending roof assigned by the ASP and welcoming numerous patients transferred from the ER and the departments of public hospitals.”.
“Pur expressing regret for the inconveniences that have occurred in the hospitals of the island, even in conjunction with the flux, AIOP strongly rejects the claims that, cyclically, are addressed to its structures, deemed improperly responsible for criticality that have structural and systemic nature,” emphasizes the note.
“To date, the revision of the regional hospital network, aimed at making the welfare offer more consistent with the real needs of the patients and with the emergency needs, is not yet defined, as are not assessed the instances of remodulation of the beds advanced by the associated structures”, continues the note of AIOP Sicilia, which also points out that “regional resources intended for reduction of the waiting lists for the 2025 million choice that shows that without synergy between the two components the question cannot be fully satisfied.”.
