PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – The new Oncoematological Polo in Palermo is closer. Invitalia has published the notice for the reliability of the design of technical and economic feasibility (pfte) of the sanitary structure of the regional capital, for an amount. total of almost 12 million euros. The mode chosen is that of the so-called “competitive dialogue” which consists of three phases: the first is aimed at gathering events of interest in the period fixed at 6 July 2026; in the second the economic operators admitted will be invited to participate in the procedure; in the third will be evaluated the final offers and will proceed to the award. The necessary documentation at the start of the iter was prepared by the hospitals company gathered Villa Sofia-Cervello, through the commissioner to acta Massimiliano Maisano, and sent on 31 March to the National Agency, which was identified as a client center.
The project is part of the Programme Agreement signed in December 2024 by the President of the Sicilian Region Renato Schifani and the Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci and provides for a total financing of 285 million euros to apply on the funds pursuant to Article 20 of Law 67/88. A first share, equal to approximately 45 million euros, is destined to interventions already started or in advanced phase of implementation: the Cell Factory, whose testing is previewed by June 2026; the new headquarters of the Anatomy pathological of the hospital “V. Cervello”, for which Invitalia has already published the contest and is in course the procedure of award; the interventions of potenziamento of the “A” Pavilion, which also includes the equipment for surgery already acquired
These resources add a second tranche, equal to approximately 240 million euros, destined to the realization of the new hospital monobloc, fulcrum of the future Oncoematological pole.
“A passage of primary importance for regional health – says the president of the Sicilian Region Renato Schifani – which is the result of the commitment of this government. With the choice of the procedure of so-called “competitive dialogue” we want to guarantee to Sicily and to the entire Euro-Mediterranean area a work at the height of the best European experiences. This mode, in fact, is used to ensure the design guarantees architectural, management and organizational standards of excellence, inspired by a model of health structure that integrates advanced digital technologies and intelligent data use to improve the quality of care, the efficiency of processes and the centrality of the patient.”.
The “competitive dialogue”, in fact, is configured as the most suitable tool for the realization of works characterized by high technical and functional complexity. “The structured confrontation with economic operators, selected on the basis of qualification requirements – emphasizes the commissioner to acta Maisano – allows to identify the most suitable technical and organizational solutions to meet the needs of the administration, before proceeding to the formulation of the final offers”. The goal is a competition with less risk of variants and disputes in the executive stage, and a greater probability of obtaining a work that meets the expected standards of excellence.
The project takes advantage of the collaboration started with the Protocol of Intesa of 8 September 2025 between Regione Siciliana, Politecnico di Milano, Fondazione Politecnico di Milano and Università degli studi di Palermo.
