Rehabilitation of communities, the Fno Tsrm and Pstrp proposes a multiprofessional model

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Fno Tsrm and Pstrp supports the proposal of law c. 1199 on rehabilitation, proposing in this regard to expand its regulatory system, in order to ensure full involvement of all health professions in the rehabilitation area. “We look favourably at the bill, provided its legislative path leads to a broader and inclusive formulation, capable of including the entire rehabilitation area,” said President Diego Catania during the parliamentary hearing held this morning in front of the members of the XII Social Affairs Commission of the Chamber of Deputies.

“The National Federation – said Catania – recognises the value of the legislative initiative”, which aims to bring rehabilitation closer to people through home care, primary care and community homes. “Our proposal is to build integrated paths, with multi-professional teams that can respond to the clinical and functional needs of the person, respecting the skills of each profession.”.

The model proposed by the Fno Tsrm and Pstrp aims to enhance all the occupations of the rehabilitation area represented by the National Federation: Logopaedists, Therapists of neuro and psychomotricity of evolutionary age, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Technicians, Professional Educators, Orthodox and Podologists.

“The decisive point is, according to us, appropriateness,” says Catania. Together with prevention and equity, this principle guides a model that provides unique access, multi-professional evaluation, customized rehabilitation project and welfare continuity, with the involvement and support of families.

“The common goal must be a rehabilitation of proximity that reduces fragmentation, improves access to care, increases the appropriateness of performance, supports assisted people and makes the health system more solid,” said President Catania.
