Fisco, Meloni “Go ahead towards a simpler and more modern system”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The eighth congress you celebrate today marks a very important stage in your journey and I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the precious work you carry out. Because tax collectors are allies of families and enterprises, they help citizens to distract from tax rules, report to institutions what works and what should be improved. We have also been able to count on your collaboration, for example to write tax reform, a reform that Italy has been waiting for over fifty years and has three basic objectives: to cut taxes, to build a simpler fisco and to re-found the relationship between the State and the taxpayers”. This is said by the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, in a video message at the eighth National Congress of the National Institute of Tributaristi (INT), which is taking place today at The Hive Hotel in Rome, on the occasion of thirty years from the founding idea of the Institute. “And it goes exactly in this direction also the imposing work of reorganization and simplification that we have led to rewriting the tax system. We have passed from 444 different legislative measures to 8 unique texts. A fundamental job to give more clarity to those who work, invest and create jobs,” he continues. “We have uniformed the rights of the taxpayer, strengthening on the one hand the safeguards for citizens and on the other reducing the sanctions, making them more proportional and in line with those applied in other European nations. Because a fair state must be intransigent to those who want to make the smarter, as evidenced by the record on the recovery of tax evasion achieved in these years, but must also meet those who ask to pay the due in the right time – the premier emphasizes -. In the same way we have introduced the agreed biennial budget, we have strengthened the collaborative fulfillment: two tools that, in different ways, allow to obtain three results: autonomous entrepreneurs can plan with greater serenity their future, the State can count on certain revenue, prevent and lower disputes between the tax and taxpayers. In summary, important steps forward for a simpler and faster, more modern system – concludes Meloni -. We are aware that there is still a lot to do, but I am sure that we will continue to be able to count on your help, because a fairer fisco strengthens the confidence of citizens in institutions and puts our nation in conditions of running. And so thank you for the work we have done here together and thank you especially for what we will do again.”.
