ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “Cardio-cerebrovascular diseases continue to represent one of the major causes of mortality and disability. At the same time, we know how much it is possible to affect their onset and their consequences through prevention, early diagnosis and a timely and appropriate takeover. This is the direction in which we have worked, putting prevention at the centre of health policies.” This is said by the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci, in a video message to the General States of Cardiovascular Health.
“With the new National Plan of Prevention 2026-2031 we have established a model that aims to intervene on the major modifiable risk factors and promote health at all stages of life. A goal that, in the cardiovascular field, means first of all to spread healthy lifestyles, starting from proper nutrition and physical activity, but also to promote early identification of risk conditions – continues -. In this perspective the strengthening of spatial assistance is also included. The Houses of the Community financed with the PNRR, already operating in many regions, allow to approach services to citizens and to integrate prevention, diagnosis, care and assistance, with particular attention to people with chronic pathologies”.
“We also invested in telemedicine, a particularly useful tool in the management of cardiovascular pathologies. Telemonitoring and other digital services allow patients to follow home, facilitate follow-up and help ensure continuity in care – says Schillaci. On the specific front of cardiovascular prevention, we have funded projects of the IRCCS of the Cardiological Network which also use new technologies to identify early risk and promote healthy behavior. These are interventions that respond to a precise vision: to protect health before the disease arises and, when the pathology is present, to ensure a timely, integrated and close to the person.”.
