NAIROBI (KENYA) (ITALPRESS) – GKSD, a subsidiary of the San Donato Group, has signed with the Government of the Republic of Kenya, through the Ministry of Health, a Letter of Intenti for the development of a program of strengthening of national health infrastructure that previews the realization of 15 new hospitals in 15 counties, for an overall investment estimated in approximately 419 million dollars.
The signing took place at the State House in Nairobi, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Kenya, William Ruto. The Letter of Intenti was signed by Aden Duale, Secretary Cabinet for Health, and by Kamel Ghribi, President of GKSD and Vice President of the San Donato Group.
The program includes 13 Level 5 hospitals, intended to strengthen the health and specialist capacity at the county level, and 2 Level 6 facilities, with functions of high specialization, teaching and national reference.
The initiative is part of Kenya’s path to Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and meets the need to expand the country’s hospital capacity, strengthening access to specialist services and reducing pressure on existing healthcare facilities.
Within the framework of the agreement, GKSD will provide its expertise in the field of healthcare engineering, design and construction of complex health infrastructures, contributing to the development of structures conceived according to criteria of efficiency, innovation and sustainability.
The project is part of the Mattei Plan for Africa and represents a further development of the international presence of GKSD in the field of infrastructure and health services.

The realization of the new structures will allow to expand the health offer and the availability of specialist care in different areas of the country, contributing to the overall strengthening of the national hospital network.
According to the Letter of Intenti, GKSD and the Government of Kenya will collaborate on the structuring of the financing of the program and the subsequent realization of the works.
