Government, Donzelli “Decisive stability for Italy, the challenge is to reduce taxes”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Occupation at the highest historians, more stability and greater international credibility: these are the results that Fratelli d’Italia claims on the eve of the goal of the longest government of Republican History, that the executive Meloni is preparing to cut in early September and that will be celebrated on September 4 with an event in Bari. Now, he says to the agency Italpress Giovanni Donzelli, national leader of the organization of the party, the challenges for the last part of the legislature are “to reduce taxes and support families”, along with the reform of the electoral law.
Among the results FdI considers the work more significant. “In Italy we are at the very least historic of unemployment and at the highest historical level of stable employment”, emphasizes the exponent of Fratelli d’Italia, specifying that it is “young employment, women, contracts indefinitely”. A result that, according to his reading, is accompanied by a greater international credibility of Italy.
“Before we heard in Italy continually “we must do so because Europe asks us.” Today, however, in Strasbourg, it is said that “we have to do so because Italy asks us”, he says, citing as an example the European agreements on repatriations. On the immigration front, he claims that “the landings have finally collapsed and the repatriation has increased”, while on that of security “the crimes have decreased, in contrast with the rest of Europe”. On the economic front, Donzelli emphasizes that “the cost of shopping cart starts to decrease, despite still expensive remains”.
Incidentally on the life of the Italians, according to the exponent of the Brothers of Italy, the interventions put in place by the Meloni government in the last 4 years on work and on the fisco. “We have created conditions to give jobs instead of a citizenship income policy,” he explains. Among the measures Donzelli also mentions the amalgamation of the Irpef rates, “a first signal of decrease of taxes”, and the reduction of the cost of labor, become “structural” and no longer a one-off measure.
Another chapter concerns security and the fight against organized crime, such as the norm of the President of the Anti-Mafia Commission, Chiara Colosimo, which allows us to intervene on the children of the mafia families, “with the possibility to remove children from the mafia”.
Among the missing opportunities of the legislature, the reform of justice. “We are convinced that it was a missed opportunity for Italy,” adds FdI’s exponent. The aim of improving justice, however, “resta” and also in the future can be pursued through “provisions at that point no more constitutional, but of parliamentary amendments”. The chapter of institutional reforms, beginning with the premiership, is still open. The time to complete the process of constitutional reform and the possible referendum “maybe I see them a little tight”, admits. However, the priority remains to make “our democracy as decisive as possible”. In this context, a central role is given to the new electoral law, which should guarantee stability to the majority. “An electoral law that allows those over 42% and takes a vote more than having stability to govern” would avoid repeating what happened in the previous legislature, when “it took 90 days to form a government and, in the same legislature, changed 3 coalitions and the government itself.” The stability “of which we have enjoyed in recent years” is indicated by Donzelli as one of the factors that have favored the economic results obtained in recent years. “It has done well to all macroeconomic data and serves, regardless of who can win the elections.”
It is precisely on the final part of the legislature that now focus the priorities of the majority. “Decreasing taxes, security and family, these are the themes,” he saidtetiness. After using the first financial resources to “help those who had some extra difficulties” and to promote the increase of jobs, now, he explains, “it is time to give a hand also to the middle class and the productive sector, lightening the tax burden”. The next manoeuvre must therefore keep together the needs of families and enterprises with the framework of public accounts. Donzelli claims the management of the accounts and the greater credibility of Italy on the markets. “We had a lot of accuracy and seriousness in managing Italian tax money.” A line that must continue avoiding “bonus and hands”, but bringing “the money where they can serve”. In comparison with the majority there is also the theme of the contribution required to credit institutions. “There is dialogue with banks.” In some cases, “it has already been demanded a sacrifice that they have given” and, if there are further possibilities of intervention, “we will all talk about it together in a majority”. They are to be excluded, however, “their own madness as the capital desired by the left”, the centreright does not intend to “put hands in the pockets of Italians who produce and create wealth”.
The stated objective remains to arrive at the natural expiry. But the knot is once again the electoral law. “The goal is to safeguard stability, which is a value we have defended and that has brought good to Italy, not only to us,” says Donzelli. “With the current electoral system, a vote in autumn 2027 could create problems in the formation of the government and the provision of maneuver”. The new electoral law is therefore considered decisive to allow the Italians to choose directly a stable majority. The aim is “to give the parties a stable majority the day after the elections and a name to be presented to the President of the Republic as a proposal for the President of the Council already submitted to voters.”
Brothers of Italy also wishes “the reintroduction of preferences”, so as to allow voters to choose “as well as the coalition and those who govern them, also the parliamentary representative of them”. As for the next elections, however, the moment of the election campaign is still considered far away. “There is still a year in which we have to think about the concrete problems of Italians.” The difference from the opposition, in the reading of Donzelli, lies here: “Until the last moment of the legislature we are focused on the answers to the Italians. The politics that thinks more about the elections than the Italians is for us a policy that must not exist”.
