“We often talk about the importance that teens and teens practice sports since school, because sport represents an extraordinary educational, formative and personal growth tool, but the value of the movement does not know age – says Abodi – With ‘Circle 65’ we want to pay the same attention to over 65, promoting active aging through sports practice. Moving in an organized and systematic way means taking care of yourself, your health, preventing and slowing down many pathologies, maintaining autonomy and quality of life, but also means creating relationships, fighting loneliness and strengthening the sense of community. Investing in sports for people of a certain age means investing in individual well-being and our communities. This project is also a contribution to sport in the Constitution.”.

For Marco Mezzaroma, president of Sport and Health, “with “Circolo 65′′′ we confirm our constant commitment to give concrete implementation to the vision of the Government and the Minister for Sport, promoting an active and inclusive lifestyle at every age. Physical activity is an extraordinary instrument of public health and a formidable social glue: intervening on the over 65 band means contrasting the sedentary and, at the same time, strengthening the social fabric of our communities by intervening on a growing anagraphic segment and that today, compared to the past, is very active and protagonist. The role of the basic sports world and the Third Sector is central in this challenge for capillarity and sensitivity. We invite all the realities of the territory to network, putting their passion at the service of the psychophysical well-being of citizens, of every age”.
