Asp Syracuse, at the start of Pachino the project “Spiagge Inclusive e Prevenzione”

PACHINO (SIRACUSA) (ITALPRESS) – The province of Syracuse also officially has a public beach totally inclusive and equipped for social care. In the arenile free of contrada Granelli, in the territory of Pachino, with access from viale Malta, is active the pilot project “Spiagge Inclusive e Prevenzione”, an accessible and barrier-free presidium open to the use of people with disabilities and in condition of fragility resident in the entire provincial territory. In order to check on the field the full operation of the structure and the quality of the services provided, this morning a visit of operational verification has been carried out that has seen the presence of the extraordinary commissioner of the Provincial Health Company of Syracuse, Gioacchino Iraci, of the mayor of Pachino, Giuseppe Gambuzza accompanied by representatives of the Junta and the City Council, the president of the Corporate Advisory Committee Salvo Sorbello, representatives of Associations, and technical operators. The initiative was realized thanks to the formal collaboration in the agreement protocol signed between the ASP of Syracuse and the Municipality of Pachino, with the financial cover guaranteed by the Sanitaria Company through the funds of the National Health Plan (PSN). The location is equipped with wooden walkways for access to the sea, shaded parking pitch and specialized sea chairs (model J.O.B.) with safety floats. The assistance is continuously guaranteed by two health professionals and a qualified professional in motor sciences, for support in hydro-balneation, with the specialist scientific direction curated by Sebastiana Iachelli, medical manager of the ASP. In parallel, the Sanitaria Company has set up a second gazebo dedicated to health promotion, basic clinical monitoring and guidance on good summer practices. “We are proud to equip the province of Syracuse with a bathing service with a high social and ethical value – said the extraordinary commissioner of the ASP of Syracuse, Gioacchino Iraci –. We wanted to carry out a technical and operational inspection to find the functionality of the structure. As a Sanitaria Company, we took charge of the equipment and the staff specialized with the priority objective of breaking down barriers and transforming the right to health and accessibility into a tangible daily experience. The strength of this project lies in its supercommunal value: this beach is available to families and fragile people of the whole province of Syracuse”. Satisfaction was expressed by the mayor of Pachino, Giuseppe Gambuzza: “Doing our coast of an inclusive beach is a fundamental goal of civilization and hospitality for our community and for the entire province thanks to the availability of the Asp of Syracuse and the commissioner Iraci. The priority objective – he added – is to offer a safe environment to disabled people and at the same time a concrete relief to caregivers and their families in the summer months. The operational synergy with the ASP demonstrates how institutions can work together to achieve concrete and high social impact actions.” The inclusive beach and its care and prevention will remain operational every day until 15 September 2026, articulated in the hourly bands 9-12 and 16-19.
