ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Board of Directors of the National Body of Drugs and Drug Care (ENPAF) also approved for 2026 the call for a one-off assistance to members of rural pharmacies, with an appropriation of 800.000 euros, unchanged compared to last year.
“Confirming for 2026 this intervention, now an integral part of Enpaf’s welfare policies, means concretely supporting rural pharmacists working in small municipalities and in the country’s internal areas. In these territories, the pharmacy represents an irreplaceable health resort, an essential service for citizens and a point of reference for local communities. Renewing this appropriation means recognizing the daily commitment of rural pharmacists and reaffirming the closeness of the body to its members, especially to those who practice the profession in the most difficult contexts. In a phase in which the sector is experiencing profound changes, with a growing presence of large financial groups concentrating their investments in high-profit pharmacies and metropolitan areas, it becomes even more important to protect the rural pharmacy as a proximity healthcare provider and the professional role of the pharmacist in the National Health Service.

The Enpaf continues to invest in professionals who guarantee the right to health every day even in the most peripheral realities of the country,” says Maurizio Pace, President of Enpaf. Enpaf members or members of rural pharmacies may be eligible for assistance from at least 2024, in accordance with the payment of the mandatory contribution.
The economic requirements required are: an ISEE value of the family nucleus not exceeding 60,000 euros; a mobilizing heritage, resulting from the ISEE certification, not exceeding 80.000 euros, an increase of 10,000 euros for each component of the family nucleus following the second, up to a maximum limit of 100,000 euros overall. The questions will be assessed on the basis of a ranking that will take into account the economic situation of the family nucleus, the antity of contribution to full quota accrued in the period 2017-2026 and the possible classification of the pharmacy as a rural subsidiary. The amount of the contribution will be determined in relation to the score obtained by each applicant, up to the exhaustion of the available resources and after the approval of the final rankings.
