ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “In the tenth anniversary of the Nice attack, I wish to express, on behalf of the Italian Republic and my staff, the feelings of participation in the pain of the families of the victims and of those affected by that barbaric act of violence, the result of fundamentalist hatred. This action is so much more serious because it is intended to hurt the values of the French Republic, on the occasion of the national holiday. The memory of that tragedy, which also involved our compatriots, remains alive in the conscience of all of us. The victims of Nice belong to the common memory of our peoples, because terrorism knows no boundaries and reasons, it is, on all latitudes, threatens the life and freedom of the person”. The president of the Republic Sergio Mattarella says this on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Nice attack.
“Today, like yesterday, Italy renews its strong condemnation of all forms of violence, intolerance and fanaticism. The fight against terrorism requires unity, perseverance, mutual trust in the defence of democracy and the rule of law. In the memory of the victims of the Nice bombing, I hope that the memory of that event so painful strengthens the shared commitment so that tolerance and peaceful coexistence among peoples always prevail over hatred and rejection of the other” adds the Head of State.
