ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “City houses are an integral part of a medicine that focuses patients, especially the most fragile, offering them a new point of reference for care, prevention and taking charge. The investment Pnrr is 2 billion euros, with the aim of achieving at least 1,038 community houses: to these resources are added another 240 million from the fund Undifferentiated Works and approximately 560 million from regional and corporate budgets”. So the Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci, during the question time in the Hall at Palazzo Madama. “Today the community houses included in the institutional development contracts are more than 1,400, 1,038 of which are valid for the European target – continues Schillaci, – for 15 years we have been talking about territorial medicine, we have realized with few slogans what others were spreading, namely a medicine closer to citizens and available when needed.”.
“Some regions have had more difficulty, but the overall picture is positive and will allow a better takeover of patients: on community homes we are in line with the targets expected, we are one step from completing the administrative part and we are working with the Regions to close the bureaucratic machine and its documentation. This morning the Regions communicated the activity of 1,056 houses: there was a huge effort of all to build together a new era of territorial medicine, this represents a better change of health and I want to thank those who worked for this goal. For those behind there is a path of accompaniment: the real challenge – he concludes – is not to open the structures, but to make them work everywhere in the peninsula. The needs of patients have changed and with them it will also have to change the assistance: we still have time to develop other interventions, for example on specialization schools”.
