PIOMBINO DESE (ITALPRESS) – Stevanato Group, a global provider of drug containment and administration solutions and diagnostics for the pharmaceutical, biotechnological and life science industry, today presented Deora, a new platform owner of pen injector for incretine based therapies, as well as supporting other pharmaceutical development programs for originator and biosimilar drugs.
Deora is a fixed dose and multipurpose pen injector, characterized by a simple pull-push mechanism for setting and administering the dose: the user pulls to set the dose, then pushes to inject. This intuitive sequence eliminates the need to manually select the dose, reducing common usage error sources and supporting a constant administration of the drug in multiple applications. The platform is compatible with standard carpulas from 1.5 mL and 3 mL and allows fixed dose volumes up to 0.75 mL.
“With Deora, we are expanding our offer of products in therapeutic areas characterized by a strong global demand and a favorable market trend – said Michele Monico, President of the Drug Delivery Systems and In Vitro Diagnostics division of Stevanato Group -. We know that there is room for a simple and multi-purpose device that improves patient experience while helping to reduce pressure on supply chain scalability. This has been confirmed by the initial interest of customers and we are providing our pharmaceutical evaluation units to support testing and development activities in the early stages.”.
The architecture of the device offers flexibility between different fixed dose configurations, minimizing the need for design changes between variants. In addition, it is designed to seamlessly integrate into existing supply chains, enabling efficient industrialization and scalable production.
“Deora further expands the proprietary portfolio of Stevanato Group medicines, offering a solution designed for multi-dose therapies requiring constant administration and ease of use in a common pen format – added Michele Monico –. Customers can now choose from different platforms of portable devices – Alina, Aidaptus and Deora – to respond to a wide range of therapeutic needs.”.
Deora exploits “the consolidated production capacities of Stevanato Group, with a production aligned to support future marketing – reads in a note -. Thanks to its end-to-end expertise including glass production, analytical services and device design, Stevanato Group is able to offer fully integrated solutions that simplify development for pharmaceutical partners. Together, these features position Deora as a platform designed to support partners in the advancement of initial development programs and in the preparation for future scalability steps.”.
