PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – Youth and prevention, two distant worlds for too long that now dialogue with a common and shared language. Thanks to the initiative “Generation Health in Scene” the ASP of Palermo has brought to the Teatro Al Massimo hundreds of students of the Secondary Institutes of II degree for a morning dedicated to prevention, view with the eyes of music, entertainment and comedy. Often faced as an impossible taboo, over the years the theme of prevention in the side has touched with difficulty the heart and sensitivity of young people. Comparison and open awareness were in fact the focal points of the organization of “Generation Health in Scena”, with the ASP that, outside the theatre, has also set up two health campers dedicated to free and anonymous tests for HIV, Epatite C and Sifilide, as well as anti-Papilloma Virus vaccination. The main objective of the initiative is to make prevention a concrete and conscious choice for young people, favouring the debate thanks to the presence of artists of the world of entertainment and the social scene today like Lello Analfino, Ivan Fiore, Valentino Pizzuto, Ale Rubino and Lupetto, with the intervention of Ernesto Maria Ponte to close the day. To open the work the words of the mayor of Palermo, Roberto Lagalla, who emphasized not only the importance of prevention but also the right information and communication about: “A meeting that I consider very important because it affirms an essential principle that is that of awareness of health risks through information. Being informed means developing knowledge, knowledge and information, which is good for them to come from qualified subjects and institutions. All of us and especially you young people – Lagalla reiterated referring to the students present – are children of the contemporary age, we believe that fulfilling an information by reading more or less superficially social news can somehow constitute a truth. But often the truth is much more complex than that superficial and immediate information, however useful, that we can find through our smartphones and therefore from the network. Each of us until he is healthy he does not believe the disease exists and that this can always affect someone else. In fact, we often involve ourselves, our families, friends and people we love, and that’s where a drama begins. Preventing means that the disease may not develop, so be discovered at such an early stage that it can be eradicated at an early stage.” The Director General of the ASP, Alberto Firenze, also spoke, explaining how the initiative is part of a program that sees “the overall approach of a company like the ASP that has in its mission to talk about primary and secondary prevention”. “We are trying – said Florence again – to change the paradigm, intercepting the attention of young people because they will then hand down and pass the witness to others.” “A brilliant initiative of the ASP, because it is the first time that in Sicily a health company summons children for vaccinations and screening – said Gigi Scalzo, Managing Director General Dasoe -. I appeal to young people because vaccination to prevent HPV is a fundamental thing, so both boys and girls have to access these procedures.” According to Lello Analfino “the work of doctors is very important but we all need to be more aware of prevention, from children to older people. I bring in myself the dramatic story of a friend of mine who at thirty years has lost his life for a heart problem, because he did not do prevention and undervalued the threat. It is important since children to do prevention and be careful about what we bring in genetic skills. For me it is a pleasure to dialogue with young people, and it is through a language that puts insieme two different generations trying to send positive messages.”.
