ASL Roma 1 and Fondazione Reportsimo, agreement for the new Oncology Service

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Local Health Company Rome 1 and the Fondazione Relazionèsimo ETS have signed a three-year agreement that starts the project “Relazioni di cura: Art, Interiority and Humanity” for the new Oncology Service and the renovation of the Oncoematological DH of the Holy Spirit Hospital in Sassia of Rome. The agreement was signed today by the Director-General of ASL Roma 1, Giuseppe Quintavalle, and the President of the Foundation, Ketty Panni. Present as speakers, moderated by journalist Marco Dotti, also Luca Cipriani, President SIGOT and Director Department of Mediche Specialities ASL Roma 1, and Ombretta Zulian, Co-founder of the Fondazione Relazionèsimo ETS. Specifically, the Convention provides for the setting up of an experimental study and work table to improve patient degence while designing the new Oncology Service. In this context, the Foundation’s contribution is concretely expressed through cultural, methodological and scientific contributions, in particular aimed at the quality of the care environment (with actions that improve orientation, readability, perception of time, comfort, calm, protection of privacy), to the integration in the spaces of artistic elements and of expressive practices at a low threshold (prive of therapeutic purposes and distinct from the health and structure activities. The cultural contribution is twofold. On the one hand, neurosciences and neuroesthetics, which show how the perception of environments affects the well-being and the emotional response of those who pass through it; on the other, humanism and the frame and values of the relationship developed by the Foundation, which place the quality of relationships at the center of each educational, cultural and curative project. “This agreement is a fundamental step in the path of modernization and humanization of our healthcare facilities. With the new Oncology Service we do not only want to offer clinical and technological excellence, but also an environment that welcomes the patient in its entirety – says Giuseppe Quintavalle, General Manager of ASL Roma 1 -. The collaboration with the Fondazione Relazionèsimo allows us to combine the scientific evidence of neurosciences to the attention for emotional and relational well-being, transforming the places of decency into real spaces to support care. Integrating art, comfort and care of space means restoring the person, and not only the disease, at the center of our health system and accepting and intercepting the need before the occurrence of possible symptoms, just in the wake of the great work that is carrying out the Lazio Region, enhancing the dignity, emotions and the specific needs of patients”. “We have been working for years on the idea that the relationship is a concrete resource, not an abstraction. Bringing art, beauty and relational attention into an oncological context means recognizing that the way in which an environment presents itself to those who enter it contributes to the quality of care,” said Ketty Panni, President of the Relazionèsimo ETS Foundation. The Convention lasts three years from the date of the digital subscription and is renewable after the written agreement of the Parties. Operational activities will be defined in dedicated Operating Protocols.
