ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “When Italy France and Germany, three Founding Countries, speak with one voice, they are able to give concrete answers to their citizens and to speak with a unique voice in Europe. It has happened for the approval of the new European rules on the contrast to irregular immigration and trafficking of human beings and will still happen for the execution and implementation of the new rules.” It was agreed yesterday and today in Mirabella Eclano, Irpinia, during a trilateral meeting the Ministers of the Interior of Italy, France (Ministro Delegate Marie-Pierre Vedrenne) and Germany (Ministro Alexander Dobrindt).
“With my colleagues, we shared an ambitious vision – said Piantedosi – and enshrined a profound convergence on a principle: to re-establish clear rules so that Europe is the protagonist of its choices and should no longer act under the pressure of urgency and emergencies.”.
A number of issues at the centre of the meeting: the full implementation of the Migration and Asylum Pact, which will allow strategic control over migration management, the new European regulations that will ensure faster and more effective repatriation policies and the creation of European repatriation hubs, the dismantling of human trafficker networks, the strengthening of Frontex, which will have to support the action of Member States for irregular migrants and European borders.
On the edge of the meeting, Minister Piantedosi had a bilateral meeting with the German counterpart, with whom, among other things, they agreed that they will continue to fight together the trafficking of human beings, especially along the route of the central Mediterranean.
