ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Contrapposed visions and radical phenomena are fueling a growing polarization that transforms political, social and cultural confrontation into a permanent confrontation. Radicality, which in many moments of history has represented a boost to change, risks today to degenerate in the denial of the reasons of the other, opening the way to instability, chaos and conflict.
In the book “Estremi” (Guerini and Associati), Gianluca Ansalone proposes a realistic reading of the great fractures of the present: the return of war, the increasing power of technological para-States, climate change, mass migration, political polarization and the progressive division of the world into spheres of influence. Historical changes that, when interpreted through ideological lenses or radical simplifications, risk becoming even more destructive.
The volume analyzes the mechanisms through which radicality is transformed into polarization and polarization into systemic conflict, showing how extremes are becoming the dominant figure of relations between States, parties, political systems and even between individuals. It emerges the need for a new recipe of government, capable of facing complexity with pragmatism and lucidity.
Not a nostalgic reflection on the past, but an invitation to read with realism the present to build effective tools for the coming decades. The preface of the book brings the signature of Francesco Rutelli.
