CAIRO (EGYPT) (ITALPRESS) – In the framework of efforts to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and Italy, a health cooperation agreement was signed between the GKSD Group, San Donato Group and the Egyptian Ministry of Health, for the development of the New Heliopolis Hospital that is rising in Cairo.
The agreement was signed yesterday, during the EYPS Egypt Energy Show held in Cairo, with the signature of Kamel Ghribi, President of the GKSD Group and Vice-President of the San Donato Group, and Ahmed Mostafa, President of the Organization for Health Insurance of Egypt. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Egyptian Minister of Health, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, and the Egyptian Minister of Oil, Karim Badawi. Michael Damianos, Minister of Energy of Cyprus, was also present.
Heliopolis is the first hospital in the National Health Insurance Organization. It will be a center with high specialization, equipped with 433 beds, Cancer center, Heart center, neurosurgery, pediatric and maternal-infantile department and a center for organ transplantation.
It is estimated that the new hospital pole will serve a population of about 1 million people.
The contract will start in 2027, to complete the construction, and will last 15 years. Kamel Ghribi expressed his appreciation for the growth Egypt is experiencing, underlining that “the agreement represents a solid starting point to strengthen health cooperation between the two countries and offer increasingly advanced medical services to Egyptian citizens.”.
