ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The final event of the route took place in Rome, which led to the creation of a cross-frontier front of 26 civic, trade union, employers and sports organizations in support of the YES to the referendum on the reform of Justice. The initiative, moderated by the Presidents of ASI and OPES, Claudio Barbaro and Juri Morico, marked the formal entry of the world of association and the Third Sector in the referendum campaign. The meeting represented the arrival point of weeks of internal confrontation between the participating English and offered the opportunity to present the results of the work of sensitization carried out on the territories. “For the world of sport and the third sector that we represent and which is also represented by the many associations that have decided to marry this committee for “Yes”, trust is a key principle. Every day we operate in contexts where legality, equity and trust in institutions make the difference between inclusion and exclusion, between opportunities and marginality. A perceived justice as distant or condition weakens the social fabric; a credible and not self-referential judiciary, instead, strengthens it. A more balanced and more effective justice is not just an abstract principle. It is a concrete condition to guarantee freedom, to protect the most fragile, to support those who work daily for the common good,” said the President of OPES Juri Morico.
“The separation of careers (together with Greece we are the only European country where they are not separated) and the drawing of the components of the CSM are both essential components for a reorganization of the Magistrature marked by equity and impartiality. Two distinct careers and two superior councils elected with draw are in fact liberation from currents. The referendary appointment is therefore a great opportunity to complete the reform of the prosecution process, approaching the idea of an equal trial between prosecution and defence, approaching Italian justice to that of the liberal democracies of the West,” said ASI President Claudio Barbaro.
During the meeting they exposed their reasons for the Yes, in the order, in a heated debate introduced in the legal part by lawyer Ettore de Conciliis, Vincenzo Pepe (Fare Ambiente), Paolo Patrizio (Meritocrazia Italia), Marco De Cesare (UGL Giovani), Piergiorgio Benvenuto (Ecoitaliasolidale), Marco Scurzano (MSP), Carlo De Morano (Gruppiino Ecologica), With this initiative, the associative world and organized sport demands its role as an intermediary body in the democratic life of the country, with the ability and will to fuel public debate on issues of civil relevance, beyond traditional political sides.
