Referendum, Meloni “The reform is for citizens, go to vote”. And adds: “No chance I will resign”

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – “This referendum is an extraordinary opportunity, you don’t have to turn on the other side, not this time, don’t stay at home, it’s all about you. We are putting it all to modernize this country, but this time we don’t make it ourselves, we need you. Because that sign, that cross on the yes, is more than a cross on the sheet, is the idea of the country in which we believe, the future we want to leave to our children. Together we can open a new page for Italian justice, for our nation. When the Italians decide to write their future there is nothing that can stop them.” This was said by the President of the Council Giorgia Meloni, speaking at the event on the referendum of justice at the Teatro Franco Parenti in Milan, promoted by the parliamentary groups of Fdi di Camera e Senato. “Do you want no against Meloni? Meanwhile there is no possibility that I dismiss myself, I want to arrive at the end of the legislature – added then the premier -. I want to judge myself on the complex of my work: so if you do not love this government but you like the reform you can vote yes. However, you will have the opportunity to send this government home to the next policies, but you will have reformed and more modern justice.” This reform “does not serve the government, it serves all citizens, even those who do not vote and do not hate me,” he concluded.

“We do not do this reform because we have it with someone, here no one has in mind to get rid of the judiciary. What we have in mind is to fix what does not work, even for the magistrates, but especially for the citizens, because what does not work is paid by the Italians. We have promised them a better nation.”.

“The reform of justice is supported with conviction by so many magistrates, because it serves to restore to the judiciary that prestige humiliated by currentist logic and return to the citizens confidence in justice. The reform is not against the magistrates but it is for all magistrates and with them for all citizens. In the past, the efforts to reform justice are undermined by the leaders of the Am.”.

The government is accused of “freedom drift, this does not come back because the separation of careers is in force in 21 of the 27 EU countries. Either they’re all slipping towards the illiberal drift or they’re all ahead and we’re back. They accuse us of being anti-European but attack us if we want to approach Italy to the rest of Europe”.
