Rome, Friday, January 16 in Piazza del Campidoglio will hold a presidio in support of the Iranian people

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – On Friday, January 16th, at 4pm in Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome, there will be a demonstration promoted by Amnesty International and Woman Life Freedom for Peace and Justice, the Donna Vita Liberta movement to support the Iranian people to which they have joined and have made co-promoters the associations Culture Europae, Culture Mundi, Italian Rights, “An extra March”, CultYt Youth for Culture.

In Iran, men and women are fighting peacefully for their fundamental rights: individual freedom, justice and democracy and without any form of foreign military intervention. A mobilization for the self-determination of a peaceful people that the Islamic Republic is repressing with extreme violence, through arbitrary arrests, torture and killing in the streets of the country. A repression that cannot leave the international community indifferent.

This event invites citizens, associations, movements and anyone who cares about human rights to take part in a public moment of witness and solidarity, to give voice to those who are silenced today.

Being present means affirming that freedom has no boundaries and that the defense of human rights is a collective responsibility. Rome will thus become, for a day, a space of concrete support for the Iranian people and its legitimate demand for future, dignity and democracy.
