“The love that moves the sun and the other stars”, takes shape the 47th edition of the Rimini Meeting

RIMINI (ITALPRESS) – “The love that moves the sun and the other stars”. The last verse of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy is the title of the 47th edition of the Meeting for Friendship among Peoples, scheduled in Rimini from 21 to 26 August 2026.

Today the poster of the new edition has been presented. In fragmentation and loneliness, in the urgency of peace and unity that marks our societies and our personal lives, this year’s title wants to focus on an original dynamic, that force that attracts and harmonies of which Dante becomes a singer and witness.

“With this title – says Bernhard Scholz, President of the Meeting – we want to rediscover the origin and destiny of the world entrusted to us and of our own existence.” A title, therefore, is not only a literary quotation, but a provocation addressed to the present. “We must confront each other – Scholz points out – with the question if we are dominated by an indecipherable chaos, often even cruel, or if we can reasonably recognize a good from which and for which everything has been generated and continues to be generated now, in our day. A good and a love that does not impose itself, but respects our freedom, indeed exalts it and sustains it to make it fruitful.”.

The 47th edition of the Meeting wants to verify whether this force that moves everything can be the key to reading reality in its deepest and most truthful dynamic, if it can become a source of reconciliation, of openness to new forms of sociality, sharing, education and culture. A love able to open new horizons for those who want to propose technology, an economy and a more consonant policy to the real needs of man. “The last verse of the Divine Comedy”, concludes Scholz, “ invites us to a new beginning that is possible for everyone and that will be the heart of the next Rimini Meeting”.
