MILAN (ITALPRESS) – In an age characterized by tight rhythms, hyperconnection and progressive reduction of attention times, art, philosophy and culture are fundamental resources for individual and collective well-being: not ornaments of life, but elements can influence happiness, personal growth, mental health. In their many forms, art and culture open inner spaces that often everyday life closes: Numerous studies show how aesthetic experience can increase creativity, reduce stress, improve mood and generally positively affect cognitive functions.
In disorientation brought by so many superficial information, philosophical thinking works as a compass: develops critical ability, increases awareness and helps to cultivate responsibility and ethical sense. It is a workout of the mind that promotes identity, inner balance and helps to live with greater authenticity.
“The idea of publishing was born for pure passion: For forty years I have done it and since 27 I have put myself in my own. My intention was to build a garrison of knowledge: knowledge allows you to understand first and solve then, so it is essential to have a possibility of understanding the great problems of life and the world; I hope my books offer it,” said Christian Marinotti, art critic and founder of the publishing house (Christian Marinotti Edizioni), interviewed by Marco Klinger for Medicina Top, TV format of the Italpress press agency.
The first aspect on which Marinotti focuses is the difficulty of establishing a link with culture in the contemporary world: “Today, in a thousand distractions, we are satisfied with four stories on Instagram: but that is information, while culture is something more sophisticated and articulated; knowledge must be taken in its complexity. Art and philosophy can contribute in a thousand ways to individual well-being: It is scientifically proven that if classical music is spread in a stable cows make more milk, so physical well-being is immediate; even reading of philosophy and entering the spirit of things is very good.”.
The next reflection concerns Stendhal syndrome and its alignment with the concept of beauty: “They are two things a little different: contemporary aesthetic studies would define Stendhal syndrome as an immersive perceptive-sensory experience: it has nothing to do with the beauty, but with the weight of an infinite fascination made of history, tradition and culture. In contemporary art, however, beauty ceased to exist: It is no longer a meter of judgment and this comes from the fact that today art is no longer played on knowledge, but on knowledge to say. With Duchamp, a non-artistic object becomes a work of art, because he said it is like this: this is where beauty is shattered.”.
Another main theme is artificial intelligence, which for Marinotti “is a basin of incredible potential: in the artistic field a robot has already been introduced with the features of a woman who paints, but art is a mediation between interiority and external world and a machine these things do not perceive them; It is really paradoxical that our emotions are entrusted to a machine. Unfortunately, in Italy we read little is true and it is dramatic: purified all the population that between school and university is ‘forced’ to read, half of those who remain read a book a year; I as editor do niche books, for a small but motivated audience.”.
The critic concludes by revealing the main purpose for the new year: “I would like Christian Marinotti Edizioni to leave me a little in peace and to be able to devote more to my things: I am writing a book of art criticism, I have in the drawer a novel and a book of poems, I am trying in the theater and in general I want to put myself in the game, without doing it for others. To stay better with yourself I can recommend visiting a museum or reading a book, but I understand that we live in more rushed times and with little concentration so better to leave these tips that might appear a little academic: a formidable element to benefit from culture can be travel, offering unreachable emotions and, even if they can cost a little in terms of money and effort, open mind and spirit.”.
