ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In recent days Italian politics has been united and unanimous on the approval of the law on consent in the sexual relations that introduced, in fact, the principle that “without free and current consent is rape”. For once, therefore, political parties have gone beyond ideological issues by approving this law to the House with 227 yes and introduced with bipartisan amendment. A new law also appreciated and shared by the Italian people.
The majority of citizens, in fact, believes necessary the introduction of such a law. A percentage exceeding 60% if you consider the only female universe. If, on the one hand, this new legislation is considered necessary for our country, on the other, doubts remain on its effectiveness.
While appreciating the new proposal, in fact, it prevails among the population the feeling that a law on consent is then in fact not useful in preventing episodes of violence and unrespected behavior.
An even stronger perception among men, where 1 out of 2 considers the law useless for the purpose of prevention, while among women a slight optimism prevails, although doubts remain on its real effectiveness.
