ROMA (ITALPRESS) – UNESCO has recognized the Italian Food World Heritage. The premier Giorgia Meloni has announced this. “Today UNESCO has recognized the Italian Food World Heritage. We are the first in the world to obtain this recognition, which honors what we are and our identity. Because for us Italians the kitchen is not only food or a set of recipes. It is much more: culture, tradition, work, wealth.” So the President of the Council in a video message. “Our kitchen is born from agricultural chains that combine quality and sustainability. It preserves a millennial heritage that is handed down from generation to generation. It grows in the excellence of our producers and becomes a masterpiece in the mastery of our cooks. And it is presented by our restaurateurs with their extraordinary teams – explains Meloni -. It is a primacy that engulfs us, and gives us a formidable tool to enhance even more our products and protect them more effectively from unfair imitation and competition. Already today we export 70 billion euros of agri-food, and we are the first economy in Europe for added value of agriculture. This recognition will give the Italian System a decisive impetus to achieving new goals.”.
