ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Antonio Tajani is said to be “satisfied” of the Regionals who “have seen us conquer, we of FI, a Region in more than those in which we ruled (the Aosta Valley, ndr) and in general confirm our governments”. The vice-premier, foreign minister and national secretary of Forza Italia in an interview with Corriere della Sera proposes a new electoral law “on the proportional model, with a majority prize”, which can give stability to the system without the “distortions” that the colleges could cause.
“In spite of only 10 years ago, we govern in many more regions than it administered and administered the left,” says Tajani, for which it is “a local vote, one cannot compare to the national vote. They weighed particular factors. For example, in Veneto it was decisive that the outgoing president Zaia led the League lists in all the constituencies. We are proud of our result, we have grown in all these Regionals, both by number of votes and in seats.”.
On the next nominations to be discussed at the centre, the Vice-Premier underlines: “For the Regions we will see, for Milan we continue to say that will serve a civic candidate. We are always convinced that every candidacy should not be done with the parties’ balance sheet, here in particular it is necessary to broaden our base because it is a city where to win is what must be done”.
As for electoral law, “the current can produce distortions and instability. We think of a proportional majority prize. It allows governance and expression and representation of all forces, with their specificity,” adds Tajani.
