Aiop, Citizens: “On PMA virtuous dialogue between the components of the system”

PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – “To see here today together the two components of the health system, that of public law and that of private law, represents the manifestation accomplished of a path that has finally been realized and of which, having supported it with conviction, I feel deeply proud”. Thus the president of Aiop Sicilia and national vice-president, Barbara Cittadini, in his speech at the conference “The PMA of the III millennium” which opened this morning organized by the CBR – Center of Biology of Reproduction, founded by the father Ettore Cittadini and today led by a team of doctors trained in his school, who carry out with rigor the work and vision, together with Andrea Biondo, of the center of the homonymous of the first level.

“Today to dialogue and virtuous synergy between these two components is what we have always wanted: a goal that we can finally consider reached and of which I am sincerely proud”, said Cittadini.

“D’Annunzio wrote: I am what I have given. A phrase that naturally brings me back to my father. As far as I’m concerned, I can just overturn it by saying: ‘I am what I was given.’ And among the most precious gifts there is an important family history and, above all, an extraordinary father who allowed me to live his human and professional experience, meeting women and exceptional men. Some are gone, others are here: to see my faces moved me, because those experiences have formed me deeply. Every day I commit myself to transmit history, memory and vision to those who work with me today and, tomorrow, will collect this witness. Today’s conference is a conference promoted by a school of professionals who have been part of a large family, a community that shared skills, experiences, emotions and opportunities, in a natural interweaving between life and profession, become inseparable elements of a single path,” he concluded.

The congress addresses central issues for modern reproductive medicine: from endometriosis and its impact on ovocytic quality, fertility preservation in cancer patients, to pre-planning genetic diagnosis (PGT) and the management of dysmetabolisms that influence gametogenesis.
