ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The unions have proclaimed 24 hours of strike to the former Ilva starting tomorrow, at the end of the meeting at Palazzo Chigi between government, workers’ organizations and commissioners of Acciaierie d’Italia.
“The government decides to confirm the plan that, in fact, will lead to the stop of the ex Ilva group”, they explain in a joint note Fim, Fiom and Uilm, who decide the strike of 24 hours “and the mobilization with assemblies in all plants and for all workers articulated territorially – continues the note -. The mobilization is immediate and organized in the individual establishments. The objective of mobilization and trade union demands is the withdrawal of the government plan and resume the discussion on the conditions of the workers and the future of the establishments consistent with the shared sharing plan with the trade union organizations”.
IL SOSTEGNO DI LANDINI
“Pieno support of the Cgil to the strike proclaimed by Fiom, Fim and Uilm, to counter the closure of the former Ilva”. So the secretary general of the Cgil, Maurizio Landini. “The government – adds the leader of the Cgil – must withdraw the proposed plan and the President of the Council – must intervene directly. No more talk, we need investments and concrete facts to give a future to our industrial and employment system“, Landini concludes.
LA NOTA DI PALAZZO CHIGI
During the meeting at Palazzo Chigi between government and trade union organizations on the former Ilva, the Executive explained that there will be no further extension of the Integration Fund, thus welcoming the main demand made by the unions themselves during the previous table. Alternatively, appropriate training courses for workers will be identified, even for those already in the Integration Fund. Training will enable workers to acquire the skills necessary for the processing of steel produced with new green technologies. The Government also confirmed full willingness to focus resources on plant maintenance to secure workers and to increase production capacity. The Executive – says the note of Palazzo Chigi – then made the point on the status of negotiations for the sale of the Group and manifested its willingness to keep the comparison open.
The meeting was chaired by the Undersecretary at the Presidency of the Council, Alfredo Mantovano and the Government attended by the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Marina Calderone, the Minister for European Affairs, cohesion policies and for the PNRR, Tommaso Foti, and the Councilor for relations with the social partners, Stefano Caldoro. The representatives of the regions Apulia, Liguria and Piedmont have taken part remotely. For the unions, there were representatives of Fiom Cgil, Fim-Cisl, Uilm-Uil, Ugl metalmeccanici, Usb and Federmanager. Moreover, the representatives of Invitalia, the extraordinary commissioners of Acciaierie d’Italia and the extraordinary commissioners of Gruppo Ilva.
