MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Quality of life starts from places where we spend most of our time: the house and the workplace. A healthy and pleasant environment is not only an aesthetic question, but it directly affects physical and mental well-being: breathing clean air, living in clean and neat spaces helps reduce stress, promotes concentration and improves health in general. In recent years the awareness has grown that the care of closed environments also concerns what we do not see: bacteria, allergens, mites and chemical residues that settle on surfaces, tissues and floors and which can be faced with natural systems, reducing the use of harmful chemicals for the environment and for people.
“The innovation of Polti Group took place in three different levels: In the last 15 years there has been an innovation of products, processes and governance, with a generational passage and a different and in some ways more inclusive leadership model. As for the product, we continued with the Heritage of my father, i.e. investing in new patents and steam disinfection devices; Concerning processes, the organizational model must be adapted to the new forms of business and innovative methods of assembly”, said Francesca Polti, president of Polti Group and vice president of Confindustria Como, interviewed by Marco Klinger for Top Medicine, TV format of the news agency Italpress.
In making a synthesis of the genesis and mission of the homonymous brand, Polti tells how “my father’s great intuition was, thanks to the advice of a client, to reproduce a professional miniature ironing machine: so doing invented not only a product, the famous Polti Vaporella, but a real market. The care of the rooms is central in our appliances: we have steam disinfection devices that allow to clean and disinfect without the use of chemical detergents, which, however necessary and effective in some situations are less salubrious than steam products, which are easier and faster to use.”.
The president of Polti Group then focuses on the responsibility of his role: “For me it means taking charge of a company that must be sustainable over time and not looking at the short time. Lately I also feel like I have to be an inspiration for young people and young people, to make them understand that a woman can be a mother, wife and entrepreneur: sacrifices are not lacking, but we must work on stereotypes and paradigms to destroy the old and create new ones.”.
The most important lesson learned in career, says Polti, is that “the most difficult choices are taken when things are better and not worse: I took the reins of the company in a very complicated phase, that of the crisis that was between 2008 and 2012, but on that occasion I found the most powerful resources and skills; When things started to go well, I realized I made more mistakes.”.
Polti concludes with the long and solid link between his company and cycling: “My father, in addition to being always very attentive to well-being, was passionate about cycling since 1986: with his Team Polti he won the Giro d’Italia and other important competitions. It was not only a passion, but a combination of values and a vehicle to increase the notoriety of our brand: cycling is a sport without typhus against, if I returned to invest in it after so many years the merit is mainly of Ivan Basso who insisted; I also asked my dad, who told me how cycling was the sport that brought him more satisfaction from a personal and professional point of view. We realized that we needed to refresh our image: not by chance, one of the choices I made in terms of innovation was to change the brand, as much as the old one is still very recognized and recognizable”.
“The Giro d’Italia touches about 20 million people: it needed to bring the brand back to the streets. The values of Polti are innovation, sustainability and respect and this also applies to our cycling team: in the vision that we have Ivan Basso company and sports team have to work together, between the two sectors – he concluded – there are several similarities and if there is no group behind you do not win”.
