ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The European Commission today announced the positive assessment of the payment of the eighth installment of the Italian PNRR, amounting to 12.8 billion. With this decision – we read in a note of Palazzo Chigi – the full and effective achievement of the thirty-two objectives envisaged, in line with the chronoprogrammes agreed at European level.
“The European Commission’s approval of the payment of the eighth installment confirms that we are at the forefront of the implementation of the PNRR. We have achieved all the objectives envisaged, a result recognised at European level that demonstrates the solidity of our commitment. The Government intends to take advantage of this opportunity to realize lasting structural changes: We will invest in strategic reforms to make Italy more competitive and capable of facing the current challenges”, says the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni.
Among the objectives achieved with the approval of the payment of the eighth rata, an advanced system of monitoring and forecasting of hydrological risks, useful also to counter the illicit disposal of waste, investments for the restoration and protection of seabeds and habitats, the support to more than 2,600 companies active in the small historical villages, in front of an expected target of 1,800 enterprises, as well as interventions for the digitization of the Guardia di Finanza, with innovative economic information systems. Health targets for home investment were achieved as the first place of treatment, through telemedicine, with assistance of more than 1.5 million patients over 65, to boost Ssn’s biomedical research and to finance programs and research projects on rare and highly disabling tumors and diseases. Moreover, in the social field, all the steps were defined to the implementation of the financial instrument for the energy efficiency of public housing. Renewable energy objectives have been achieved with the adoption of the single text, as well as those relating to the respect of payment times by the central and local authorities, regions, autonomous provinces and national health services.
“The positive evaluation of the eighth rata confirms the precise respect of the expected time for the implementation of investments and reforms, with the transfer to Italy of more than 153 billion overall from the start of the Plan. The work continues to formalize also the request for payment linked to the achievement of the fifty objectives of the ninth rata. With the PNRR we are all building together a stronger, more equitable and closer to the ambitious challenges of the future, an Italy that innovates, sustains and includes”.
