ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The theme of birth “is vital for our country and for the entire European continent. Demographic imbalances produce changes, crisis of pre-existing assets and affect human relations, community life, cultural models, the aspirations of citizens and citizens.” Thus the president of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, speaking to the fifth edition of the general states of the birth.
“The structural effects of imbalances are known on all terrain: the social system, the welfare system; economic and employment. These are issues which first and foremost concern the immaterial assets of the community, its degree of civilization, social cohesion,” he added.
According to the head of the state, “the theme of births imports cultural, social, anthropological factors that help to close the personal and social horizons in the present. The decline of the births, the decline of the population, cross the question of the territories and are the internal areas, especially in the South and in the Islands, to suffer the effects of demographic decline”.
Mattarella then stressed that “the weak generational renewal will affect the sustainability of public accounts, as well as intergenerational cohesion. It is positive that the institutions of the country have asked themselves how to transform awareness of the existence of a problem into actions.”.
